All joints and hinges tight though with some superficial starting to joint ends of most volumes, but a solid binding all in all. Spines sunned and thus the dark green leather has turned a dark brown at spine extremities and vicinity. Overall a very good(+) to about near fine(-) set. Three separate frontispieces & full-page engraved plates in red, blue & brown sepia, respectively, with tissue guards, throughout each volume. Printed on high quality paper, with wide margins. Custom bound in a handsome set of eight quartos, in dark green 3/4 leather (probably goat skin) and pale green smooth rustic cloth gilt lettering, gilt numbering and raised bands to spines approx 200-250 pages to each volume.
