What I think happens next is not pretty, no prettier than what has already happened. I do know that I have so many questions about what happens after the story ends.

It's really hard to say more without giving away too much. The tension is non stop, the happenings gruesome from the onset, and getting more gruesome by the minute.

Of course, something is not right but what is causing this phenomenon? Who is causing these events and can they be stopped? We see this story from several different perspectives and we never know more than the characters know. Nearby a group of highly trained professionals have been gathered to brainstorm what has been happening. The girls move to another storm shelter and the vibrations happen again. The area and all living things have been pulverized. Running to their settlement, their parents throw them into a storm shelter, leaving the girls alone as their suffering increases unbearably.Īfterwards Tennant is bloody, broken, and battered but Sophia is in even worse shape. The accompanying noise builds into a deafening crescendo of screams. I finished the book ~ made myself ~ hoping the storyline would improve & the writing would mature. Throughout the tale, "normal" human beings are being mysteriously drawn into a constantly growing mass of souls who are seemingly losing their minds ~ individually & collectively.

It is definitely a mystery but a more-than strange one. Yes, there's mystery over all & several agencies in & around Oregon trying to solve the puzzle. Well, "The Noise," IMO, is a drawn-out Sci-Fi tale. If you've followed my posts, you know I'm really into good, make-you-think mysteries. Once again, I picked a strange one because of James Patterson's endorsement! Once again, really disappointed in the content!
